The basic Aqua-Master is designed to be fixed to the three point linkage fittings at the rear of the standard 70 hp farm tractor and to be driven by its power-take-off with the tractor's hydraulics serving the hydraulic system of the drill. Thus the tractor not only carries and powers the drill but it can also carry or tow all the drilling equipment, consumables and personnel needed to operate it.

Aqua-Masters can also be mounted on say four wheel drive lorries or barges and they can be supplied with integral diesel engine drives and independent hydraulics. A low-headroom version is designed for drilling in confined spaces and it can be powered by diesel engine, electric motor or compressed air.

The drill can core drill or auger drill at virtually any angle, it can obtain dry samples by shell and auger, it will operate either by wireline or by conventional drilling techniques

Core drilling can be by air flush or water flush, the controls and gauges are simple and easy to use, a pull down lock gives pressure as required, the ground bearing pressure ensures stability, a large casing driver can be fitted for water well drilling, a 140 lb drop hammer can be used for site investigation work, the tool handling mast can be assembled on site utilising drill rods for convenience, the drive is mechanical and the drill head is hydraulically fed.

The Aqua-Master can be trailer-mounted for towing to locations and the basic rig weighs 765 kg. It is 1.48 metres high, 1.67 metres wide and 1.54 metres long. Many of the accessories and parts can be supplied by agricultural suppliers even in remote locations. The basic machine has an integral 45 litres per minute water pump and alternative facilities to connect an air compressor for air flush instead of water flush.

The drill head chuck can be a triple jaw manual unit or it can be hydraulic. The hydraulic cylinders, hoists, etc. can be served either by the tractor's hydraulics or an integral hydraulic system can be utilised.
